This Darwin Glass impactite/tektite is from Tasmania Australia.This glass was formed 800 thousand years ago from a large nickel Iron meteorite on the West Coast of Tasmania. Darwin glass is the Tasmanian version of moldavite it is the only known impact glass to contain a component of the original meteorite. Two nice pieces of Darwin Glass one piece shows flow patterns of white and green 2.1 cm x 1.9 x 1.3 cm. The other is nice translucent green with a slight wave form 2.4 x 2.1 x 1.5 cm. 8.5 grams (total)
