Found in the weathered granite gravels of Killiecrankie Bay on beautiful Flinders Island, northern Tasmania. These stunning stones are in fact topaz. Topaz is both hard (8 on Mohs scale) and has a high dispersion making it sparkle like a true diamond. Topaz is known as the stone of love and good fortune, also the birth stone of those born in November. This stone has a slight pink hue which is the rarest of all the colours from Flinders Island. The stone had been fashioned into a square round portuguese cut, weighting 2.56 carats.
