These remarkable gemstones that resemble snake skin are actually the fossil grinding teeth of an ancient fish. This material is very rare and is only found on serval small privately owned hills on Madura island in Indonesia where it is mined by a handful of young miners. It is one of the rarest and most beautiful gem materials we have come across in our travels.
