Antique Torque from Laos

This neck ring or torque is from the Hmong Hill tribes in Laos. This striking piece has been decorated with a traditional incised design. The Hmong people are an ethic minority found in Northern Thailand, Laos and Vietnam then into southern China. They are well known for their superior silversmith skills and unique designs. This torque is a hollow design made from white metal alloy it is very easy to wear and looks delicate but stunning. The ends are decorated with elephant heads.
